Congressman Seth Magaziner, representing Rhode Island's 2nd District since 2023, has recently addressed several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Magaziner succeeded James Langevin and has been active in discussing local economic and social matters.

On March 23, 2025, Magaziner highlighted the challenges faced by Rhode Island fishermen due to the freezing of grants intended for upgrading their gear. He criticized former President Donald Trump for what he described as broken promises affecting working individuals. "RI fishermen earned grants to upgrade their old gear—good for business & the environment. Now those funds are frozen, leaving workers stuck with the bill."

The following day, March 24, 2025, he pointed out the consequences of budget cuts attributed to Trump and Elon Musk on federal programs. During a visit to Farm Fresh RI, he observed how these reductions have impacted support for various community sectors including farmers and small businesses. "The effect of Trump & Musk’s reckless and illegal cuts to the federal government is real."

In addition to these concerns, on March 24, 2025, Magaziner encouraged high school artists to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. He emphasized that this event provides an opportunity for young artists to gain national recognition with winning pieces displayed at the US Capitol. "Attention high school artists! The Congressional Art Competition is still OPEN until APRIL 11."
