As Ranking Member for Counterterrorism on the House Homeland Security Committee, I'm committed to disrupting evil plots like this before they occur. #BostonStrong." In this statement, Magaziner reflects on the Boston Marathon Bombing, emphasizing his commitment to preventing similar incidents through his role in the House Homeland Security Committee.
Later on the same day, Magaziner turned his attention to social security issues, tweeting "Over 230k RIers are on Social Security — and Trump and Musk are gutting it to fund tax breaks for the rich. They’re firing call center staff, closing offices, and leaving seniors on hold for hours. We are standing up to say: we won’t let them tear this lifeline apart." Magaziner criticized efforts by Donald Trump and Elon Musk regarding social security, expressing his opposition to the program's funding being diverted to tax cuts.
Additionally, Magaziner highlighted a visit to Federal Hill House, underlining his community engagement and advocacy for elder care. He noted, "Great visit with @FedHillHouse today to have important conversations with seniors about health care, protecting Social Security, and the cost of living. Seth Magaziner, born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983, currently lives in Cranston and has been part of the U.S. Congress since 2023. He graduated from Brown University in 2006 and later from Yale University.
