Congressman Seth Magaziner, currently serving Rhode Island's 2nd district, has recently communicated policy priorities through a series of tweets. These messages address significant legislative issues ranging from gun control and human rights to housing solutions.

On March 29, 2025, Magaziner highlighted his support for changes in gun legislation by tweeting about raising the age for purchasing assault rifles, stating: "One of the most common-sense steps we can take to reduce gun violence is raising the age to purchase an assault rifle from 18 to 21. 21 is already the age for handguns. I’m proudly backing the Raise the Age Act to put in place this basic safeguard & prevent more mass shootings."

Following this, on March 30, 2025, he addressed an international human rights issue. Magaziner tweeted about the treatment of Uyghurs in China: "The Chinese government’s persecution of Uyghurs is a humanitarian crisis. We must pass the Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act to expedite refugee status for those fleeing oppression and give them a pathway to safety in the U.S."

Later that same day, Magaziner turned his focus to a local housing issue through a tweet proposing the repurposing of historic buildings in Rhode Island: "Everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home—& in Rhode Island, our historic mill buildings can be part of the solution. I just intro'd a bill to improve the Historic Tax Credit, so we can turn more of these buildings into new housing & help tackle the housing crisis."
