Seth Magaziner, a Congressman representing Rhode Island's 2nd district, took to social media to announce recent legislative activities and developments impacting his constituency. These announcements, made on March 28 and 29, highlight initiatives concerning infrastructure, the defense industry, and caregiver support.
On March 28, Congressman Seth Magaziner addressed the impact of the Washington Bridge closure, noting its significant effect on Rhode Island residents. Magaziner stated, "The Washington Bridge closure has had a huge impact on RIers. Along with my colleagues in the RI CODEL, we secured $220 million for a new bridge, & now those funds are on their way. This is a big step toward easing traffic, helping local businesses, & getting us moving again."
Later that day, Magaziner highlighted the importance of Rhode Island's defense sector, underscoring its role in providing long-term employment. He elaborated, "Rhode Island’s defense sector means good-paying jobs for the long-term—more than 34,000 of them. I joined SENEDIA’s Annual Members Meeting to talk about how we keep building a strong, skilled workforce and ensure this industry continues to anchor our economy for the long haul."
On March 29, Magaziner focused on the needs of family caregivers, expressing support for the Credit for Caring Act. He explained, "Caregivers do the necessary, often overlooked, work to be there for their loved ones. They need a little extra help. I’m backing the Credit for Caring Act to provide up to a $5K tax credit to ease the burden on family caregivers & help them keep up w/ the cost of their work."
