On February 12, 2025, Congressman Magaziner expressed his views on the appointment of Kash Patel to the FBI by former President Donald Trump. He stated: "Americans deserve a government they can trust, one that works to keep them safe. But Trump wants to put an unqualified lackey with no law enforcement experience in charge of the FBI. The Senate must reject Kash Patel."

Later that day, he addressed educational inequalities affecting working families in Rhode Island compared to wealthy individuals like Donald Trump and Elon Musk. In his tweet, he remarked: "Donald Trump and Elon Musk don’t have to worry about how to pay for their kids’ education. But for working Rhode Islanders, this could mean fewer teachers, bigger class sizes, and less programming in public schools. We’re prepared to fight back."
