Seth Magaziner, a U.S. Congressman representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, recently took to social media to express concerns over the impact of certain high-profile figures on federal services and funding. His comments reflect ongoing issues he perceives in the administration of essential public services.

On February 6, 2025, Magaziner highlighted the importance of federal workers by stating that they "keep us safe, rebuild after disasters, and get seniors their Social Security and Medicare benefits." He accused former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk of "attacking federal workers" which he believes jeopardizes vital services. He reassured those in service by saying: "You’re seen. You’re valued. We’ve got your back."

Later that day, at 15:45 UTC, Magaziner shared his concerns about community health centers across Rhode Island reporting a sudden cut-off in federal funding. He connected this event to a recent changeover in control over the federal health payment system by Elon Musk's team. Magaziner described this situation as "Dangerous and totally unacceptable."

In another post at 22:19 UTC on the same day, Magaziner pointed out that the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources is unable to access more than $125 million due to actions by Trump and Musk. This has affected funding for various initiatives including conservation, solar energy projects, and energy efficiency programs. He stated: "Funding for conservation, solar, energy efficiency, and more is all impacted."
