The Hightone Jug Ensemble is comprised of seasoned Jazz, Rock, Country, and Blues (all Rhode Island musicians). Jug Band Music has been played by various members of this group on no fewer than three continents! The music follows a traditional jug band format but includes more modern music too. Audience participation is a big part of the music, just as it was back in the 1920’s and 30’s and is fun for both families and kids.
Spend a cold winter evening with us exploring this important American art form, and relive a simpler time when people got together to celebrate listening and participating in music, and not just listening to it in the car.This event is free and open to the public. Limited seating available, first come, first served.
