UMass Boston’s Harris Named HoopDirt.com DIII Coach of the Week | Little East Coference
UMass Boston head men’s basketball coach Jason Harris has been named the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Coach of the Week by HoopDirt.com for the week-ending December 18, 2022. He is the first Little East Conference (LEC) honoree this season.
Harris is off to his best start since arriving at UMass Boston for the 2015-16 season, guiding the Beacons to a 9-3 record to begin the year. They are currently riding a five-game winning streak heading into the winter break and are winners in eight of their last nine games after going 3-0 last week.
The Beacons opened the week taking down Salem State University (87-78) and Westfield State University (85-74) in non-conference play before notching a 79-62 league victory over Rhode Island College (79-62) over the last week. The triumph over the Anchormen improved UMass Boston’s LEC record to 2-1, which has the Beacons sitting in fourth-place in the conference standings.
UMass Boston will return to action January 4, 2023 when it heads to Castleton University for a 7 p.m. LEC contest.
