Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues in a series of social media posts on September 16, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Magaziner expressed concerns about recent healthcare policy developments: “Trump and the Republicans have gutted Medicaid and now they are coming after the Affordable Care Act. I met with @WeAreUNAP nurses and health care workers to discuss how I am fighting back – including by voting NO on any budget that doesn’t support health care.” (September 16, 2025)
Later, Magaziner turned his attention to corporate tax practices. He wrote: “Big corporations hand out massive bonuses to executives, then write them off on their taxes. It’s another way the system is rigged against working taxpayers. I’m backing legislation to make the rich pay their fair share so we can focus on tax relief for the Middle Class.” (September 16, 2025)
In a third post from the same day, Magaziner questioned immigration enforcement actions involving minors: “Why is a 16 year old high school student with no criminal record being targeted by ICE? This kid should be in class, not a detention center.” (September 16, 2025)
Magaziner has served as Rhode Island’s representative in Congress since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
