Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of updates on social media regarding legislative actions and constituent services.

On January 8, 2026, Magaziner highlighted an upcoming vote: “Tomorrow we will finally vote on extending affordable care act funding. So I say to my Republican colleagues: instead of buying Greenland and building ballrooms, let’s give much needed relief to the American people.”

Later that day, he reported on his office’s efforts to assist constituents in the previous year: “In 2025, our office helped more than 650 Rhode Islanders with last-minute passport requests, overdue tax returns, Social Security benefits, and more. If you need help, we are here for you! Reach us online or call (401) 244-1201:”

By the evening of January 8th, Magaziner announced legislative progress for local initiatives: “The House just passed funding for five community projects I fought to include. These projects will make Rhode Island safer, healthier, and stronger. They support local law enforcement with needed equipment, prevent flooding, and upgrade outdated infrastructure.”

Magaziner has served as the representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston at age 39, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
