Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight local events and policy positions.
On September 13, 2025, Magaziner encouraged student participation in a national competition by posting: “Calling all student coders! Register now for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge and start building your app today. Applications close October 30 – don’t miss your chance!”
The following day, he shared reflections on a community event: “The Gala de la Hispanidad in Lincoln yesterday was a night full of pride and celebration, honoring the traditions and leadership of the Hispanic community that makes Rhode Island better.” This message underscored his engagement with cultural celebrations within his district.
Later on September 14, Magaziner addressed concerns about financial ethics in government: “If there’s one thing Americans agree on, it’s this: Members of Congress shouldn’t be trading stocks while writing the very laws that affect those companies. Full stop. Read from @wpri12 https://t.co/fFHv8WXSka https://t.co/gDmUqzrJ0G”
Seth Magaziner began serving as the representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd congressional district in 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
