Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his ongoing efforts to address issues affecting older Americans and health care policy through a series of posts on his social media account.
On March 11, 2026, Magaziner posted about a meeting with his Senior Advisory Committee, stating: “My Senior Advisory Committee helps me understand the challenges facing older Americans so I can be a stronger advocate for protecting Social Security and Medicare, lowering drug costs, & ensuring everyone who works hard can retire w/ dignity. Thank you for another great meeting!”
The following day, March 12, 2026, he addressed the financial priorities in federal spending amid conflict in Iran: “Just one month of this war in Iran will cost more money than it would have cost to keep the Affordable Care Act funding cut by the Republicans. We could be making health care more affordable for millions of Americans instead of firing missiles at elementary schools.”
Later on March 12, Magaziner shared details about a visit with seniors at Village Gardens in Peace Dale: “Today I spent time with seniors at Village Gardens in Peace Dale to talk about the issues that matter most to them, including bringing down costs and making sure everyone can retire with dignity. Thank you for the warm welcome and the great conversation!”
Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University (BA) and Yale University.
