Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed topics ranging from national security to community outreach and military service in a series of social media posts.
On September 6, 2025, Magaziner commented on the implications of reduced American involvement in international humanitarian efforts, stating: “When the United States steps back from meeting humanitarian needs around the world, our adversaries step in. And that’s bad for American national security.”
Later that day, he informed constituents about an upcoming event: “Reminder: One week from today, my office is hosting a Passport Fair at the Cranston Library to help constituents apply for a new passport, renew an existing one, or get passport photos taken. Details are on my website https://t.co/dG6HxhffWc” The Passport Fair aims to assist residents with passport applications and renewals.
On September 7, 2025, Magaziner attended a military commissioning ceremony and shared his reflections: “I attended the Officer Candidate Class of 2025’s commissioning ceremony at Camp Fogarty in East Greenwich today for @RINationalGuard. These Rhode Islanders have shown extraordinary devotion to duty, and we all owe them deep thanks for their commitment to safeguarding our nation.”
Magaziner has served as Rhode Island’s 2nd District representative since replacing James Langevin in 2023. He was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. His educational background includes degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
