Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared on February 6, 2026, a series of posts highlighting Rhode Islanders participating in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan.
In his first message, Magaziner wrote, “Very excited to watch the Rhode Islanders (and honorary RIers) competing in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Here are the people representing the Ocean State in Milan! “ (posted February 6, 2026).
He continued by recognizing a local official’s involvement: “A Rhode Islander will also be officiating hockey games at this year’s Winter Olympics. Congratulations to Smithfield native and @universityofri alum Amanda Tassoni! https://t.co/jBGCFbXEr0” (posted February 6, 2026).
Magaziner also acknowledged an athlete from the state: “Emily Fischnaller, a U.S. Army veteran, discovered luge at age 10 right here in Rhode Island. Now, she’ll be competing on the U.S. Women’s National Luge Team! https://t.co/81hjvmfa1N” (posted February 6, 2026).
Seth Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and resides in Cranston. Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
