U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district, used his social media platform over the weekend to highlight several local initiatives and events, focusing on public service and community development.
On March 14, 2026, Magaziner recognized the contributions of state and municipal workers in Rhode Island. He stated: “State and municipal workers show up every day to keep Rhode Island running. It’s time we honor their public service again. I was proud to join @RIC94AFSCME for their 50th anniversary and honor the legacy of Council 94 President J. Michael Downey.”
The following day, on March 15, he announced new funding for a community project in South Kingstown: “South Kingstown residents will soon have a place to gather, get help, celebrate birthdays, work, or study – thanks to $850K of funding we delivered for a new community center at Champagne Heights.”
Later that evening, Magaziner attended an event honoring members of the Civil Air Patrol. He posted: “The Civil Air Patrol was created during WWII to bring civilians into serving our nation. Today they still answer the call with search and rescue missions, education, and mentorship through their cadet program. Tonight we honor some standout cadets & volunteers.”
Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and now residing in Cranston, he is an alumnus of Brown University (BA) and Yale University.
