Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media highlighting local and national issues between May 2 and May 3, 2026.

On May 2, Magaziner acknowledged Military Appreciation Month with a tribute to Rhode Island’s history of service: “May is Military Appreciation Month. Rhode Island has answered the call in every conflict since the Revolutionary War. This month and every month, I am grateful to those who have served for their bravery and sacrifice to protect our country. “

Later that day, he addressed environmental concerns related to Rhode Island’s coastal resources: “Rhode Island’s beaches are part of who we are. That is why this summer I am cosponsoring the BEACH Act, to enhance testing and mitigation of contamination so beaches can stay clean, accessible, and open for all.” The BEACH Act aims to strengthen monitoring efforts for beach water quality and support measures against pollution.

On May 3, Magaziner commented on federal spending priorities: “We need to stop spending money on wars in foreign countries and tax cuts for foreign billionaires, and spend our money here at home.”

Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. His educational background includes degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
