Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several local initiatives and community events through his social media posts.
On March 16, 2026, Magaziner announced funding for a historic preservation project: “The Old Town House in North Kingstown has witnessed generations of history – from Civil War veterans gatherings to its use as an American Legion Post amid WWII. I am proud to deliver $620K to preserve this history & to convert it for use as a gathering place for years to come.”
Later that day, he discussed his ongoing efforts to represent working people in Rhode Island: “My job is to bring the voices of working people in Rhode Island to Congress. Today, I welcomed @WhipKClark to our state to hear directly from Rhode Island union leaders about the challenges workers face and the need for fair pay and better safety on the job.”
On March 17, 2026, Magaziner marked St. Patrick’s Day by acknowledging Rhode Island’s Irish-American community: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Our state is lucky to have such a large and proud Irish-American community. With family roots in County Leitrim on my mother’s side, I celebrate today with Rhode Islanders who are really Irish, sort of Irish, and honorary Irish across our state!!”
Magaziner has served as the representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner graduated from Brown University with a BA in 2006 and later earned a degree from Yale University in 2010.
