Seth Magaziner, U.S. Congressman representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently posted updates on community engagement and legislative efforts through his social media account.
On September 7, Magaziner shared his participation in a local event despite inclement weather: “It might be rainy today, but I still had to stop by the Cranston Greek Festival for some of the best food in Rhode Island!”
The following day, he announced constituent services available at a public library: “My office will be holding in-person office hours on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the East Greenwich Library. If you need any help dealing with a federal agency, like Social Security, the IRS, or VA, come visit us!” (September 8).
Later that same day, Magaziner addressed immigration enforcement and protections for veterans: “Trump promised to target the ‘worst of the worst.’ Instead, he’s sending ICE to lock up US military veterans & their families. I’m introducing an amendment to the annual defense bill to ensure servicemembers, veterans & their families have access to legal counsel & due process.” (September 8).
Magaziner was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. He is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University. After succeeding James Langevin in Congress in 2023, Magaziner has focused on constituent outreach and legislative action regarding veteran affairs and immigration policy.
