Congressman Seth Magaziner, representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, recently shared insights on various topics through a series of tweets. The congressman highlighted historical events, local economic activities, and federal budget concerns.
On June 16, 2025, Congressman Magaziner reminded his followers about the historical significance of Rhode Island in the American Revolution. He tweeted: “Did you know that the American Revolution really began in Rhode Island? A year before the Boston Tea Party, we kicked things off with a bang in R.I. Learn about the Burning of the Gaspee.” This post was aimed at educating people about the early revolutionary activities in Rhode Island.
Later that day, on June 16, 2025, Magaziner turned his attention to local economic matters. He posted: “Fishing means jobs, tradition, and a strong economy for so many Rhode Islanders. Today my staff and I visited the Port of Galilee with @RhodeIslandDEM to see recent bulkhead upgrades and discuss supporting the working waterfront.” This visit underscored his commitment to supporting local industries vital to Rhode Island’s economy.
On June 17, 2025, Congressman Magaziner addressed concerns over federal budget cuts affecting national parks. He tweeted: “National Parks are America’s best idea. But the Trump Administration has cut park staff by 2,400 so far, and are proposing an additional *30%* cut to the NPS budget. I asked @SecretaryBurgum about the impact of these cuts.” His message reflected apprehension over proposed reductions to National Park Service funding.
Seth Magaziner is currently serving in Congress after replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and residing in Cranston, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
