U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account highlighting federal funding wins and policy positions affecting his constituents.
On September 25, 2025, Magaziner announced what he described as a significant achievement for senior citizens in Rhode Island. In his words: “We secured a huge win for RI seniors, successfully pressuring Trump to release funds for the Americorps Seniors program that runs programming at facilities in RI. This funding should not have been held up to begin with. The disruptions from Elon’s DOGE continue to cause chaos.” (September 25, 2025).
Later the same day, Magaziner highlighted progress on local infrastructure projects with the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (@WRWC) in Johnston. He wrote: “Yesterday we celebrated a big milestone with @WRWC in Johnston. A $5M+ project will reduce flooding, restore habitats, & expand community spaces. I’ll keep working w/ them to bring home federal dollars for projects like this one.” (September 25, 2025).
Magaziner also commented on economic issues affecting residents of Rhode Island. He posted: “How about just get rid of the tariffs? So Rhode Islanders don’t have to pay extra at the grocery store to keep farms afloat.” (September 25, 2025).
Seth Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District since replacing James Langevin in 2023 and has focused on federal investment in local projects and policies impacting cost of living.
He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston.
Magaziner graduated from Brown University with a BA in 2006 and later earned an additional degree from Yale University in 2010.
