Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on March 17 and 18, 2026, highlighting recent activities in Washington and his engagement with international and community leaders.

On March 17, Magaziner noted the installation of a commemorative plaque in the Capitol to honor law enforcement officers who defended the building during the events of January 6th. He stated: “Today at long last a plaque hangs in the Capitol to honor the police officers who risked their lives to defend democracy on January 6th. We can never forget the shameful actions of the violent mob that day, or the heroism of the men and women in uniform who stood up to them.” (March 17, 2026).

Later that same day, Magaziner referenced his participation in St. Patrick’s Day activities as part of the Congressional Irish Caucus. He wrote: “On St. Patrick’s Day, I joined the Congressional Irish Caucus to meet with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin to discuss the strong ties between Ireland and Rhode Island.” (March 17, 2026).

On March 18, Magaziner shared an update about diplomatic engagement with Armenia. He said: “Today I welcomed the Armenian Ambassador to the United States H.E. Narek Mkrtchyan to reaffirm my support for security and humanitarian assistance for Armenia.” (March 18, 2026).

Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd district since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, he is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
