Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on local community events and economic challenges through his social media posts this week.
On December 8, 2025, Magaziner highlighted concerns from small businesses, stating: “Independent toy shops across America are feeling the impact of tariffs ahead of the holidays. The team at Good Toy Group in South Kingstown shared today about how the tariffs are raising costs for mom-and-pop retailers across our state.”
The following day, he celebrated a milestone at a local hospital: “This week, Hasbro Children’s Hospital is celebrating 10 years of Good Night Lights – a simple idea that began with one flashlight & has grown into a nightly tradition that brings comfort and joy to countless kids and families. This will warm your heart.” (December 9, 2025).
Later on December 9, Magaziner also attended a ceremony honoring military service members. He wrote: “Honored to join @WreathsAcross at @PonagansetHS as the community laid wreaths for fallen heroes. We owe everything to those who have sacrificed for our country.”
Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
