Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on immigration policy, public engagement, and Indigenous heritage events through his social media posts.
On July 23, 2025, Magaziner addressed concerns about immigration enforcement under the Trump administration. He wrote, “Americans want an approach to immigration that prioritizes deporting people who commit serious crimes, not honest people trying to make a living. Instead the Trump Admin is detaining & deporting grandparents, children, veterans—even US citizens. We will continue to call it out.”
The following day, July 24, he invited constituents to participate in shaping policy by sharing their ideas. In his post he stated, “I want to hear from you. We need good ideas that make life better for people. I’m launching a new series all about good ideas, and I want your help: If you have an idea that would make a good policy, comment, DM, or contact my office! Let’s build a positive agenda together.”
Later on July 24, Magaziner highlighted his attendance at a local cultural event celebrating Indigenous heritage in Rhode Island. He posted: “I was honored to attend the Tomaquag Museum’s Annual Honoring & Cultural Celebration, a gathering that uplifts Indigenous culture, and history in RI. This museum is about preserving Native heritage and making sure these stories are seen, heard, and passed on.”
Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd District since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin ([source](https://www.congress.gov/member/seth-magaziner/M001220)). Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
