Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media on September 3, 2025, addressing concerns about humanitarian aid delays, economic inequality, and congressional ethics.
In a post published at 12:04 p.m. UTC, Magaziner criticized the Trump administration for its handling of humanitarian aid. He wrote, “Funding for malnourished children has been ‘awarded’ but not delivered, as the Trump administration moves at a glacial pace to fix the humanitarian aid system that they broke. I will keep speaking on the floor every day until aid is being shipped to starving children again.”
Later that day at 1:25 p.m. UTC, Magaziner commented on financial challenges facing American workers and alleged financial misconduct by members of the Trump family. He stated, “Working Americans struggle with rising bills and health care cuts, while the Trump family is cashing out billions from their crypto scheme. It is outrageous.”
At 2:56 p.m. UTC, Magaziner addressed congressional ethics and called for legislative action regarding stock trading by lawmakers: “If you’re a member of Congress, your job is to serve the public. That means no side hustles in the stock market. Let’s get this ban done.”
Seth Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner graduated from Brown University in 2006 and later earned an additional degree from Yale University in 2010.
