Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Republican lawmakers for their approach to healthcare and government funding.
On October 6, 2025, Magaziner wrote, “I went on @FoxNews to explain that Republicans created a health care crisis, and have chose to shut down the government instead of fixing it. Time for them to come to the table so we can pass a bipartisan budget.”
Later that day, he continued his critique with another post: “Republicans have had 15 years to come up with their Obamacare alternative, and still have NOTHING. Mike Johnson has kept House Republicans on vacation for three weeks rather than deal with the healthcare crisis. No plan, no urgency, no credibility.” This message specifically called out House Speaker Mike Johnson.
In a third post from October 6, Magaziner added: “Even a broken clock is right twice a day…”
Seth Magaziner began representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006 and later earned an additional degree from Yale University in 2010.
