Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his official social media account addressing consumer rights and local culture.
On September 20, 2025, Magaziner criticized the removal of an airline refund rule by former President Donald Trump, stating: “For years, airlines had to refund passengers when flights were canceled or delayed. Trump just scrapped that rule. I am joining 77 colleagues to call for it to be restored. This is about basic fairness for travelers.” The congressman emphasized the importance of reinstating protections for airline passengers whose travel plans are disrupted.
Earlier that week, on September 19, 2025, Magaziner shared a post without additional commentary: https://t.co/hExcglzkN7
In another post on September 20, 2025, he highlighted Rhode Island’s culinary traditions: “Calamari is Rhode Island’s official state appetizer and is the star of the Narragansett Calamari Festival & Cook-Off! It is always a great time celebrating local food and the traditions that make our state so awesome.”
Seth Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
