Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing Congressional stock trading and the deportation of military veterans.
On December 12, 2025, Magaziner called for reform within Congress regarding financial activities: “Members of Congress shouldn’t be trading stocks. Anyone willing to challenge the status quo and deliver for the American people should join @RepChipRoy and I to crack down on insider trading in Congress.”
The following day, Magaziner highlighted testimony involving South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and concerns over veteran deportations. On December 13, 2025, he wrote: “Earlier this week, Kristi Noem told me under oath that she has not deported veterans. I then introduced her to one that she did deport. But it’s much worse than that: @RepMoulton got DHS to admit that they’ve deported at least 8 vets and are planning to deport dozens more.” Later the same day, he added: “Safe to say @JimmyKimmel, this hearing did not go the way Secretary Noem had planned. Easy fix for next time: stop deporting veterans.”
Seth Magaziner began serving as Rhode Island’s representative in Congress in 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol in 1983 and now residing in Cranston, Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
