Seth Magaziner, U.S. Congressman representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently voiced his positions on corporate tax policy, congressional stock trading, and Social Security through a series of posts on social media.
On July 31, 2025, Magaziner criticized the current tax treatment of CEO bonuses in a post stating, “While working people are struggling to scrape by, CEOs give themselves massive bonuses – and big corporations write off CEO bonuses from their taxes! Middle class taxpayers should not be subsidizing CEO bonuses. I am cosponsoring a bill to end this crazy practice.”
Later that day, he addressed the issue of lawmakers trading stocks while in office. In a post at 19:59 UTC he wrote, “I joined @NewsNation to make something clear: the American people want a congressional stock trading ban. They are tired of waiting. Let’s get it done.”
Magaziner also commented on Social Security policy with another post at 21:03 UTC: “These people see Social Security as just another pool of money for their Wall Street friends to get rich off of. Outrageous.”
Magaziner was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. He succeeded James Langevin as representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd district after the 2022 election cycle. Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
