U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, posted a series of tweets on July 23, 2025, addressing issues related to nutrition aid shipments and immigration enforcement under the Trump administration.
In a tweet from July 23, Magaziner stated: “I visited the Edesia Nutrition Factory in North Kingstown over the weekend. It is long past time that the Trump administration honor its word and get the shipments moving again.”
Later that day, he highlighted his efforts to raise awareness about immigration policies by organizing a forum with fellow Democrats. On July 23, he wrote: “I organized a forum with my @HomelandDems colleagues, @RepDeliaRamirez and @RepDanGoldman, to elevate the stories of innocent people who have been caught up in the cruelty of Donald Trump’s extreme deportation policies. Here is what the Trump Admin doesn’t want you to see: “
In a follow-up post on July 23, Magaziner cited testimony from Jesse Franzblau of the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC): “Jesse Franzblau of @NIJC shared how ICE arrested Abel, one of their clients, in a case of mistaken identity. Even after realizing he wasn’t the target and had no criminal record, ICE refused to release him even as he went into an asthma attack.”
Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd congressional district since replacing James Langevin in 2023. He was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
