U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, addressed several issues affecting his constituents in a series of posts on November 4, 2025.
In one post, Magaziner highlighted the importance of Affordable Care Act tax credits for small businesses, stating on November 4: “Small businesses rely on Affordable Care Act tax credits to afford health insurance for their employees. If Congress lets them expire, small businesses and workers in RI will pay the price. Speaker Johnson must call the House back into session and extend the tax credits now.”
Later that day, he announced funding secured for local law enforcement in Cranston: “Law enforcement officers risk their lives to protect ours. They deserve the best equipment—including for the smallest officers! @Cranstonpolice just received 4 new K-9 fleet vehicles, paid for by a grant I was honored to secure, so patrol & therapy dogs can keep RIers safe.” The message underscores recent support for public safety initiatives within his district.
Magaziner also criticized former President Donald Trump regarding federal nutrition assistance programs: “Trump is using hunger as a political weapon, depriving 40 million Americans – most of them children and the elderly – of SNAP benefits in defiance of a court order. It is horrific that a President would give $40 billion to Argentina while depriving his own citizens of food.”
Seth Magaziner has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin as representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd district. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner graduated from Brown University and later Yale University. His recent statements reflect ongoing concerns about healthcare affordability, public safety funding, and federal nutrition assistance programs within his constituency.
