Seth Magaziner, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, has been vocal about various issues on social media. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1983, and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner has an academic background from Brown University and Yale University. He recently shared insights on his activities and opinions through a series of tweets.
On June 17, 2025, Magaziner shared his experience visiting the University of Rhode Island’s Bay Campus. “Today we toured @universityofri’s Bay Campus for an update on the incredible work being done in oceanography, marine biology and engineering, and environmental protection,” he stated. He emphasized the campus’s importance to Rhode Island’s blue economy.
The following day, June 18, 2025, Magaziner addressed stock trading by Congress members. “If you want to trade stocks, go to Wall Street,” he remarked. “If you want to serve the public, come to Congress.” He advocated for legislation banning Congressional stock trading.
Later that day, Magaziner criticized misinformation related to clean energy. “We cannot let the Trump administration’s falsehoods about clean energy go unchecked,” he asserted after engaging with Secretary Burgum during a House Natural Resources Committee meeting.
Magaziner succeeded James Langevin in representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district.
