Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on May 11, 2026, addressing youth engagement, public service, and immigration enforcement practices.
In his first tweet of the day, Magaziner wrote: “Had a great time joining @JARhodeIsland for Congressional Leaders Day to talk with young people about the importance of financial literacy and the many ways to get involved in public service.” (May 11, 2026). Later that afternoon, he followed up with a brief message: “You’re welcome, America” (May 11, 2026).
In the evening, Magaziner commented on recent actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), stating: “As a dad of two kids, I could not imagine them experiencing what ICE has put innocent children through under this administration. There must be accountability for agents who use excessive force, including those who unnecessarily deployed tear gas and pepper spray on children.” (May 11, 2026).
Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd district since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
