U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, has recently used his social media platform to address labor issues, free speech concerns, and economic policy.

On September 24, 2025, Magaziner posted about his participation in a meeting with union members. He wrote: “Today I proudly stood with @IBEW members at the progress meeting for District 2 – representing 44 unions across New England. We are fighting to bring good-paying union jobs to New England, and keep them here.”

Later that same day, he commented on the state of media freedom in relation to former President Donald Trump’s actions. Magaziner stated: “Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air, but this is just the beginning for Donald Trump’s censorship of free speech. Here is my reaction to Trump’s attacks on free and independent media. “ The post references ongoing debates about political influence over media outlets.

On September 25, 2025, Magaziner addressed economic policy regarding tariffs imposed by the previous administration. He wrote: ” A new report shows that inflation would be a third lower without Trump’s tariffs. Working people are paying more than they should because of bad policy. The President should bring costs down immediately by repealing his reckless tariffs.”

Seth Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol in 1983 and now residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
