Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted issues of government ethics and paid family leave through a series of posts on social media.
On September 21, 2025, Magaziner stated his position regarding financial transparency among lawmakers by posting, “When members of Congress trade stocks, the risk of corruption is too high. Votes should reflect what’s best for the American people, not what’s best for our investment portfolios.” The post included a link for readers to learn more about his stance.
The following day, on September 22, 2025, Magaziner expressed support for expanding workers’ rights in another post: “Everyone should be able to take time off to care for a new child or a sick loved one without risking their job or paycheck. Proud to be an original cosponsor of the FAMILY Act, which will finally guarantee paid family and medical leave nationwide.”
Seth Magaziner has represented Rhode Island’s 2nd congressional district since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, he is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
