U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, recently addressed several issues on his official Twitter account, including alleged presidential misconduct, a significant event for Rhode Island’s Catholic community, and the restoration of education funding in the state.
On July 22, 2025, Magaziner commented on allegations of presidential corruption by posting: “He’s bragging about taking bribes… In broad daylight. By the way, I have a bill to stop presidents from starting lawsuits to cash in like this.”
The following day, he celebrated a milestone for Rhode Island’s Catholic community: “A proud moment for Rhode Island: Pope Leo recognized the first miracle of his papacy, right in Pawtucket! Congratulations to Rhode Island’s Catholic community on this historic recognition.” (July 23, 2025).
Later that same day, Magaziner discussed education funding in Rhode Island after previously advocating against federal cuts: “Earlier this month, I stood w/ state & local leaders to demand Trump reverse cuts to education. Now $6.5 million for afterschool programs is being restored for RI. This is a big win, but there are millions to go and we will not rest until funding for all RI students is back.” (July 23, 2025).
Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 and succeeded James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner graduated from Brown University with a BA in 2006 and later earned a degree from Yale University in 2010.
