The following day, Magaziner criticized House Republicans for their absence during a government shutdown: “House Republicans have been on vacation for 24 days.

The government is shut down and health care costs are exploding.

Cancel the vacation, and let’s get back to Washington. We have work to do. https://t.co/hYlnsnSvCW” (October 13, 2025).

Later that same day, he commented on international affairs, referencing recent events in Gaza: “I am grateful that after two years of unspeakable suffering, the last living Israeli hostages have returned home and peace restored in Gaza.

I pray that leaders throughout the region will demonstrate the wisdom, compassion and humility necessary for the ceasefire to endure.” (October 13, 2025).

Magaziner has served as Rhode Island’s 2nd district representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
