U.S. Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on July 25, 2025, addressing paid time off for American workers and humanitarian concerns in Gaza.
In a post at 15:04 UTC, Magaziner announced the reintroduction of his bill aimed at ensuring paid leave for employees. He wrote, ” Today I reintroduced my bill to guarantee paid time off for American workers. Everyone who works hard deserves to have some time off. My PTO Act will ensure every full-time worker gets two weeks off and can use it for any reason.”
Later that day at 17:28 UTC, Magaziner addressed the situation in Gaza by stating, “The starvation in Gaza is a humanitarian crisis. Children are dying and doctors are too hungry to work. Aid must be surged and allowed in NOW.”
At 18:59 UTC, he commented on reports concerning emergency food aid under the Trump Administration: “Last week, it was reported that the Trump Administration is destroying 500 tons of emergency food aid because it expired while sitting in a warehouse. Food that had already been paid for. Food meant to save the lives of malnourished children. We cannot be silent about this.”
Seth Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
