Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on February 25, 2026, addressing recent national and local events.
In his first post that day, Magaziner referenced a congressional moment of silence: “Today the House of Representatives stood in a moment of silence for the victims of the shooting at Lynch Arena. Thank you to my colleague @RepGabeAmo for leading us.” (February 25, 2026).
Later, Magaziner commented on a Supreme Court decision and ongoing tariff policy: “The Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s tariffs, which drove up the cost of everything, are illegal. But now he is imposing new tariffs anyway. Cut it out, Donald. Tariffs are taxes on working people. Enough already.” (February 25, 2026).
Magaziner also highlighted community response during severe weather conditions: “When a historic blizzard hits, Rhode Islanders do what we do best: show up for each other!” (February 25, 2026).
Seth Magaziner has served as the representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
