Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media accounts this week addressing economic and foreign policy issues.
On December 3, 2025, Magaziner commented on an unspecified event with the statement: “Disappointing but not surprising.”
The following day, December 4, he focused on rising consumer costs and corporate profits in the grocery sector. In his post, he stated: “Grocery prices are higher than ever while big corporations make record profits for the hedge funds that own them. I’m co-sponsoring the Lower Grocery Prices Act to go after price gouging and restore some fairness to the system so that working people aren’t taken advantage of.”
Later on December 4, Magaziner addressed recent events involving maritime incidents in Venezuela. He wrote: “The boat strikes in Venezuela aren’t about drugs, they are about oil. And we cannot allow our country to be pulled into another war based on false pretenses. I joined @NewsCentralCNN this morning to break it down.”
Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner is a graduate of Brown University and Yale University.
