Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media account on October 2, 2025.
In a post early that morning, Magaziner announced the status of federal operations: “We are officially in a government shutdown. I am answering the most common questions I’m getting about what this means and what happens next.” (October 2, 2025).
Later in the day, he extended greetings to those observing a religious holiday: “Wishing all who observe a meaningful Yom Kippur. May this day of reflection and prayer bring peace, renewal, and hope for the year ahead. G’mar Chatima Tova.” (October 2, 2025).
Magaziner also shared a brief message referencing “Throwback Thursday”: “#TBT https://t.co/YRzKRoCtv4” (October 2, 2025).
Seth Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since replacing James Langevin in 2023. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner is an alumnus of Brown University and Yale University.
