Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of policy and community issues in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On September 16, 2025, Magaziner criticized the Trump administration’s approach to food aid for children, stating: “Hungry children can’t eat promises or social media posts. The Trump administration needs to restore food aid for children now.”
Later that evening, he highlighted his commitment to health care and cancer prevention efforts. In a post at 22:27 UTC, Magaziner wrote: “Cancer touches nearly every family. I am committed to advancing policies that improve prevention, treatment, and access to affordable care. Thank you @ACSCAN for your tireless advocacy and support for those fighting cancer.”
Magaziner also promoted civic engagement by inviting constituents from Rhode Island’s 2nd District to participate in a telephone town hall. Seth Magaziner has served as the U.S. Representative for Rhode Island’s 2nd District since replacing James Langevin in 2023. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
