Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues of public concern in a series of posts on April 2, 2026.
In his first post that day, Magaziner highlighted the work and safety needs of local emergency responders: “West Warwick firefighters put their lives on the line to keep Rhode Islanders safe. Tonight, I spoke with them about my work to ensure they have the equipment they need to do their jobs safely, and are compensated fairly for the dangerous jobs they do.” (April 2, 2026)
Later that evening, he commented on federal spending priorities: “So he admits that he is spending our tax money on endless wars instead of childcare, Medicare, and Medicaid. It doesn’t have to be this way.” (April 2, 2026)
Magaziner also drew attention to environmental and labor concerns related to illegal fishing practices: “Illegal international fishing is bad for the environment, often uses slave labor, and undercuts the pay of Rhode Island’s fishermen. I am leading a bipartisan letter calling for more funding to crack down on bad actors who don’t play by the rules.” (April 2, 2026)
Seth Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since replacing James Langevin in 2023. He was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
