Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media addressing economic pressures, mental health initiatives, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
On May 12, 2026, Magaziner wrote: “Americans work hard, yet too many people are struggling to make ends meet due to rising costs. It shouldn’t be this way. Lower the tariffs, end the war, fix health care. More money in people’s pockets.”
The following day, he highlighted efforts related to suicide prevention and support for veterans: “Had a meaningful conversation with @AFSPNational about their work to support those affected by suicide. I was also proud to discuss my bipartisan bill, named for one of my constituents, to help prevent veteran suicide in the critical year after leaving military service.” This post underscores his engagement with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and legislative efforts aimed at veterans.
Later on May 13, Magaziner addressed disability advocacy: “Honored to meet with advocates from @NDSS this afternoon. I will continue fighting to protect special education and advocate legislation to support people with Down syndrome.”
Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin as representative of Rhode Island’s 2nd district. He was born in Bristol in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. His educational background includes degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
