Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on September 10, 2025, to address issues related to defense policy, political violence, and clean energy.
On the morning of September 10, Magaziner posted: “Republicans are trying to add an amendment to the defense bill to further delay offshore wind from delivering affordable clean energy to the grid. We’re not having it.” He expressed opposition to proposed legislative changes that could impact the deployment of offshore wind projects.
Later that day, Magaziner commented on a recent act of violence with another post: “Political violence is completely unacceptable. This attack must be condemned in the strongest terms possible.”
In a third post published on the same day, he announced his vote against the annual defense authorization bill: “I just voted no on the annual defense authorization bill. Congress has a duty to ensure the President doesn’t use the armed forces to abuse his power. With Trump in office, that responsibility is more important than ever.”
Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. His educational background includes degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
