Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on legislative reform, healthcare advocacy, and local sports via social media.
On March 20, 2026, Magaziner addressed the issue of political betting by members of Congress. He wrote: “There is a new way Members of Congress can profit from their position: betting on politics on prediction markets. Along with other reform-minded Members, I am introducing a bill to ban this.”
Later that day, he highlighted his engagement with healthcare issues. In a post dated March 20, 2026, he stated: “I was honored to meet with the Brain Aneurysm Foundation in my DC office this week to discuss advances in brain aneurysm treatment. With support from Congress, we can improve research and better understand the risks before aneurysms occur.”
Magaziner also celebrated a milestone for local collegiate athletics on March 21, 2026: “The URI women are in the tournament for the first time ever! Let’s go!!!”
Seth Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston. Magaziner holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
