Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on December 5, 2025, addressing community engagement, legislative action against child trafficking, and immigration enforcement practices.
In his first post of the day, Magaziner thanked local organizations for supporting small businesses and recognizing Hispanic contributions: “Thank you to the @RIHispanicChamb for hosting another great Café con Leche to highlight the hard work of small businesses and celebrate the many contributions of Rhode Island’s Hispanic community.” (December 5, 2025).
Later that afternoon, he highlighted efforts to combat child trafficking through new legislation: “Preventing child trafficking is one of the most important law enforcement priorities we must support. Along with Rep. Owens (R-UT), I am intro’ing the Preventing Child Trafficking Act to strengthen federal coordination, disrupt trafficking, & support victims. Congress must act.” (December 5, 2025).
In an evening post on immigration enforcement policies under the previous administration, Magaziner wrote: “The Trump Administration is lying when they say their ICE raids target violent criminals. Their own data shows they’re detaining people with no violent history: grandmothers, children, working people, even citizens and veterans. Go after criminals, not grandmothers.” (December 5, 2025).
Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since replacing James Langevin in 2023 and represents Rhode Island’s 2nd District. Born in Bristol in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston at age 39, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
