Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on October 3, 2025, addressing health care issues and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In a post marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Magaziner urged the public to take preventive action and support those affected by the disease. He wrote on October 3: “During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, remember to get annual screenings, support research, honor survivors, and stand with those courageously fighting this disease.”
Later that day, Magaziner commented on the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on health care. On October 3 he stated: “While the government is shut down and the American health care system is in crisis, Congressional Republicans have decided to extend their vacation.”
Magaziner continued his criticism of House Republicans’ actions regarding health care policy and government operations. In another post from October 3 he said: “House Republicans left town for vacation rather than working with us to fix our broken health care system and keep the government open.
To my colleagues across the aisle: Stop the cuts to Medicaid and ACA tax credits. Reopen the government. Save health care.”
Seth Magaziner has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983, Magaziner currently resides in Cranston. He holds degrees from Brown University (2006) and Yale University (2010).
