Congressman Seth Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on his social media account.
On March 13, 2026, Magaziner joined the congressional Jewish caucus in denouncing recent hate crimes, stating: “Along with the congressional Jewish caucus, I condemn the antisemitic attacks that have occurred in our country in recent days. I will continue to work to ensure that places of worship and community centers have the funding they need for security to keep people safe.”
Later that evening, he highlighted efforts to support youth programs in Rhode Island: “I worked with @SenJackReed and @SenWhitehouse to secure funding for the Ocean Community YMCA in Westerly to transform its lower level into a space where young people can stay active and productive. It was awesome to cut the ribbon today!” This collaboration reflects ongoing initiatives among Rhode Island lawmakers to invest in local community resources.
On March 14, 2026, Magaziner commented on health care policy changes affecting his constituents: “The numbers are in: Because of Donald Trump and Republicans’ cuts to Affordable Care Act and Medicaid, Rhode Islanders are paying more for health insurance and thousands have lost their insurance completely.”
Magaziner has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding James Langevin. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently residing in Cranston, he holds degrees from Brown University and Yale University.
