The Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) has announced the return of the Financial Trivia Challenge, sponsored by Navigant Credit Union. The competition is open to both high school and middle school students who are members of RIIL.
The event is a digital contest aimed at improving students’ financial literacy. According to organizers, students will have two minutes to answer as many questions as possible on topics related to personal finance. Participants may attempt the quiz up to 30 times in order to improve their scores and climb the statewide leaderboard.
Prizes for individual students total $3,000. The top-scoring high school student and middle school student will each receive $500. Additional prizes include two awards of $250, two of $150, and sixteen of $75 for other high scorers.
Schools also stand to benefit from participation. The first four high schools and four middle schools with at least 20 participants will each receive a $250 bonus prize. The high school and middle school with the most participants completing the challenge at least once will be awarded $1,000 each. Further awards based on participation rates range from $750 to $250.
Students can access the quiz through this link: https://quizbee.fun/play/90 (the link goes live on February 2). The competition remains open until March 17 at 11:59 PM.
Organizers remind students that only one email address per participant is allowed, and those attempting to use multiple emails or exceeding the play limit risk disqualification from prizes. Accurate entry of education level and school name is required for proper prize distribution.
“Ties will be decided by random draw,” according to event guidelines.
In addition to participating in the challenge, students are encouraged to explore ongoing personal finance resources such as the Navigant Credit Union Embark Account—a digital-focused account designed for teenagers with no fees.
