Congressman Seth Magaziner, representing Rhode Island’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media platform. Magaziner, who succeeded James Langevin and holds a BA from Brown University and a degree from Yale University, continues to engage with both local and national concerns.
On July 8, 2025, Congressman Magaziner expressed his condolences for those affected by the recent floods in Texas. He stated that he had been in contact with his colleagues from Texas to offer sympathy to those impacted by the disaster. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, he committed to advocating for “a full review of our disaster response to extreme weather.” “I have been in touch with House colleagues from TX to express my sympathy for those impacted by the floods, and particularly those who have lost family members.”
Later that day, Magaziner announced upcoming office hours scheduled for July 9 at the Providence Public Library. The event is set to take place between noon and 2:00 PM. He encouraged constituents needing assistance with federal agencies to attend this session. ” Our team is hosting office hours in Providence tomorrow!”
In another post on July 8, Congressman Magaziner highlighted an issue concerning lifesaving food aid valued at $7.5 million produced by Edesia Nutrition being held in a Rhode Island warehouse instead of reaching children in need. He pledged ongoing advocacy efforts within Congress until the administration reinstates this critical program. “$7.5 million worth of @edesianutrition’s lifesaving food aid is sitting in a RI warehouse…”
Seth Magaziner was born in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1983 and currently resides in Cranston.
